This is the fourth annual Earth Day Clean Up of Confluence Park. We will be removing litter and plastics from the Riverbank that would wash into the river during high flows.
The event will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday April 18th. The second Clean-Up or rain delay day will be the following Saturday April 25th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Over the last three years we have removed an estimated 7 to 8 tons of litter and plastics from our Riverbank. This year our goal will be to total 10 tons of garbage removed from the Watershed since 2017. It could not be done without great volunteers and event partners coming together to make it happen!
This years event will be sponsored by Wolfs Ridge Brewing! They will host an after party for volunteers starting at 4pm with awards and prizes given out at 5pm. Every volunteer will get a voucher for a free Alcoholic and Non Alcoholic beverage. Be sure to include this in your plans! A portion of the beers sold that night will go directly to FLOW (Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed).
The year 2020 will be the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Let's make this year the best year yet!
Fundraising: For Earth Day's 50th anniversary, we want to make an even bigger difference while providing service sites with additional support that we hadn't been able to provide in the past. That way and with your help, we will be expanding Earth Day Columbus's impact overall. Fundraising opportunities, while added to each service site, will be completely optional.
The funds you raise here go towards making Earth Day Columbus even better.
